2. Information we collect

Information you give us

We collect information you choose to give us when you fill out a form, sign up for a guide or newsletter, request a home value, search for or ask about a property, register for an event, respond to a survey, or contact us. This may include:
- Your name (for example, your first name on our relocation guide sign-up form)
- Your email address
- Your phone number, including a mobile number
- Your mailing address
- Your answers to any other questions on our forms
- Anything else you include in a message to us
You can visit the Site without telling us who you are. You can always choose not to give us personal information, but then we may not be able to send you a guide or answer your request.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Site, we and our service providers may collect technical information, such as your browser type, device type, operating system, internet service provider, IP address, approximate location, the pages you visit, the links you click, and the date and time of your visit. We collect some of this with cookies and similar tools. See "Cookies and similar tools" below.

Information from social logins

If the Site offers sign-in with a social media account and you choose to use one, such as Google or Facebook, we may receive profile information from that provider. This often includes your name, email address, profile picture and other information you have made public. We use it only as described in this policy. We do not control how your social media provider uses your information, so please review its privacy policy and settings.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:
- Send you the guide, report or other item you asked for
- Answer your questions and help with your real estate needs
- Contact you by email, phone call or text message about buying, selling or moving to the Triangle, including marketing and informational messages, when you have agreed to hear from us
- Set up and manage your account and logins, if the Site offers them
- Send newsletters, market updates, event invites and other information you agreed to receive
- Run promotions, contests, surveys and other Site features
- Understand how people use the Site so we can improve it and our services
- Keep the Site safe and prevent fraud or misuse
- Meet our legal, licensing and brokerage duties

4. Phone calls and text messages

When you give us your phone number and agree to hear from us, for example on our relocation guide sign-up form, you agree that Caul Group Residential, brokered by eXp Realty, and members of our team (including our agents and inside sales agents, also called ISAs) may call you and send you text messages at the number you gave us, even if your number is on a federal, state or company Do Not Call list. Here is what that means:
- Types of messages. We may send marketing messages (such as new listings, market updates, guides and event invites) and informational messages (such as answers to your questions and appointment reminders).
- Where your information goes. When you fill out a form on the Site, your name and contact details go into Follow Up Boss, our customer relationship management (CRM) system. Our agents and ISAs use it to follow up with you by call, text and email.
- Phone number owner and age. By giving us a phone number, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that you own the number or have the owner's OK to give it to us. If you give up that number, please tell us so we stop contacting it.
- Automated and AI-assisted calls and texts. Calls and texts may be made or sent using automated technology, including AI-assisted calls and texts and AI generated or prerecorded voices.
- Call recording. We may monitor or record calls as the law allows.
- Not a condition of purchase. Your consent to receive calls and texts is not a condition of buying or selling any property, good or service. You can still work with us without agreeing to calls or texts.
- Message frequency. Message frequency varies.
- Costs. Message and data rates may apply, based on your mobile plan.
- Stop texts. Reply STOP to any text to opt out. We will send one message to confirm you are opted out, and then we will stop texting you at that number. You can also opt out, or withdraw your consent at any time, by emailing [email protected] or calling 919-263-7653.
- Get help. Reply HELP to any text for help, or contact us at 919-263-7653 or [email protected].
- Stop calls. Tell the person calling you, or contact us, if you want us to stop calling. We will add your number to our company Do Not Call list.
- Do Not Call policy. We do not call or text numbers on a federal, state or company Do Not Call list unless you have given us consent or the law allows it.
- Opt out timing. Replying STOP stops texts to that number right away. We process all other opt out requests within a reasonable time, and no later than 30 days after we get them.
- Carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

5. We never sell or share your mobile number or text consent

We do not sell, rent or share your mobile phone number, your text messaging opt in, or your consent to receive texts with any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt in data and consent are not shared with any third party, except the service providers that help us send messages to you (such as our CRM or texting platform), who may use it only to provide that service to us.

6. Email

If you sign up for our emails, we may send you guides, newsletters, market updates, event invites and other information. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can also ask us to stop by contacting us. Even after you unsubscribe from marketing emails, we may still send you messages about a request or transaction you are working on with us.

7. How we share your information

We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others. We share it only with your consent, to provide our services, to comply with the law, to protect rights and safety, or to meet our business and brokerage duties, as described here.

Service providers

We use trusted service providers to help us run our business and the Site. They process information for us and on our behalf, and only for the work we ask them to do. They include:

- Our website platform and hosting provider
- Email, calling and text messaging providers, including tools that make automated and AI-assisted calls and texts for us
- Analytics providers, such as Google Analytics
- Other providers that help with things like customer service, data analysis and marketing for us
Some of these providers may use cookies or similar tools on the Site to collect information about how you use it over time, as explained in "Cookies and similar tools" below.

If you buy, sell or rent with us, we may share information as needed with others involved in your transaction, such as a lender, closing attorney, inspector or the other party's agent, at your direction or as needed to complete the transaction.

They may collect pages visited, approximate location, and device or browser details, and may share data with the companies that provide these services.
You can use your browser settings to block or delete cookies, or to alert you when cookies are sent. If you do, some parts of the Site may not work. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google's free browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

9. How we protect your information

We keep your personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, unless a longer time is required or allowed by law (for example, for tax, accounting, legal or real estate recordkeeping requirements). When we no longer need your information, we will delete it or make it anonymous. If that is not possible (for example, because it is stored in backup archives), we will store it securely and keep it from further use until it can be deleted.

We will review each request carefully and respond as the law requires.

12. California residents

If you live in California, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 (the "Shine the Light" law) lets you ask us, once a year and free of charge, for information about the categories of personal information (if any) we shared with third parties for their direct marketing in the prior calendar year, and the names and addresses of those third parties. To ask, send a written request using the details in section 17. If you are under 18, live in California, and have a registered account on the Site, you can ask us to remove content you posted publicly on the Site. Contact us using the details in section 17, and include the email address on your account and a statement that you live in California. We will make sure the content is no longer shown publicly, but it may not be completely removed from our systems.

The Site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian for permission before using the Site, and do not send us any personal information. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make a big change in how we use personal information you already gave us, we will post a notice on the Site before the change applies to you. Please check this page from time to time to stay informed.

16. Your acceptance of this policy

By using the Site, you accept this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Site. If you keep using the Site after we post changes, that means you accept the changes.
